Associate Creative Director

An Associate Creative Director at 500° combines their superior design skills with a proven ability to make strong decisions and push their team to deliver targeted/beautiful work developing original creative concepts and approaches as well as overseeing project design all the way through execution.

Associate Creative Directors should not only act as mentor for their direct reports, but also work seamlessly across departments to deliver the best work possible.

Our ACDs contribute to the development of digital content, merchandising and marketing strategies, drive the collaborative efforts of the project’s creative user experience, and drive teams to exceed expectations on all levels. We need someone who can represent the 500 culture and standards both within the company and to our clients, and who are as passionate and excited about their work as we want our consumers to be.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Develop creative ideas, concepts, campaigns and insights that drive consumers to act
  • Influence, oversee, and participate in the creative process and artistic direction; ability to give great direction and push conceptual thinking
  • Translate ideas across multiple channels when necessary, including but not limited to print, digital, and social
  • Be a leader on the creative team to build a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability
  • Collaborate closely with clients and account leaders to understand their creative needs, presenting concepts and solutions that address their objectives. Manage client relationships from a creative perspective alongside internal creative senior leadership
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with all internal stakeholders; be seen as a trusted creative partner within the agency
  • General oversight and management of direct reports, providing direction, mentorship, and performance feedback; Including owning onboarding plan and assigning out mentorship responsibility as needed
  • Review all key project deliverables and all creative briefs to ensure correct level of project aspiration
  • Manage multiple projects at once, ensuring deliverables and milestones are being met up to agency quality standards
  • Present creative concepts to clients and internal stakeholders in a compelling and persuasive manner

What You'll Need (Requirements):

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field preferred, and/or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of industry experience, including people/team leader experience
  • Expert use of Adobe CS and Keynote (you will build presentations)
  • Preferred background working in QSR marketing space, and a strong working knowledge of consumer-centric design
  • Expert level typography and illustration skills, motion skills and experience producing cross-platform video content preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the production process
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with at times demanding deadlines
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working with photographers and directing photoshoots.
  • Ability to work off a creative brief. The ability to help write a brief.
  • Attention to detail, attention to detail, and attention to detail
  • Strong focus on team success and collaboration, inclined to put the team before themselves – big egos not welcome

Physical & Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
  • Stamina to handle extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Availability to travel up to 35-45% of the year, as needed, to client locations, industry events, or other relevant destinations
